Field QC Supervision

FIELD QC SUPERVISION

Our approach to satisfy our client’s demands while providing QC services is to make sure all the electronics for the marine or land equipment is in good shape and performing according to the industry standards. We believe that there is no good geophysics if the electronics is bad; therefore if the electronics is good, the geophysical survey for the land or marine acquisition including the positioning, should be good.

Our field consultants bear in mind the issue at all times and make sure that all field acquisition equipment is working well, before seismic data acquisition is allowed to START in a daily basis.

LAND OPERATIONS DAILY CHECK ROUTINES:

Start-Up Technical Audits.
Land Recording Instrument Daily Test (I/O, ARAM, Sercel).
Cable Shop work Supervision of the daily rotation for cables and geophone strings.
Land survey pre-plot versus post-plot coordinates.
Coordinates conversion parameters check (WGS-84 to Local Datum).
Satellite Receivers PDOP, HDOP and VDOP be on specs and Instrument Calibration.
SPS file check.
Vibroseis Radio and Hard-wire Similarity Test and all Vibroseis Attributes.
Fundamental Ground Force.
Average and Peak Phase.
Average and Peak Harmonic Distortion.
Ground Stiffness and Ground Viscosity Attributes.
Average and Peak Force.
COG (Center of Gravity for the Vibrators daily production).
HSE practice and Waste Management.
Uphole survey check and verify statics calculations.
Field QC processing check & generation of 3D Volumes, Brute Stacks and Time Slices for each Swath.
QC Check for all the attributes of the BIN (fold of coverage, offset ranges & azimuth distribution).
Daily Safety Meetings and Crew Audits.

MARINE OPERATIONS DAILY CHECK ROUTINES:

Start-Up Technical Audits.
Marine Recording Instrument Daily Test (Sercel Seal,I/O MSX or Syntrak).
Air Gun Timing Accuracy.
Marine Real Time Binning System.
Navigation network accuracy, Digital DGPS, Acoustic and Laser Positioning.
Streamer Separation.
Navigation processing and Seismic field QC processing of the data.
Satellite Receivers PDOP, HDOP and VDOP be on specs.
Review and discuss the 3D INFILL with Contractor's Party Manager.
Proper formatting and accuracy of the UKOOA (P2/91 or P2/94) geometry file generated by the Navigation Department.
QC Check for all the attributes of the BIN (fold of coverage, offset ranges & azimuth distribution).
Marine Gravity and Magnetic Data Acquisition QC, including Still Readings.
HSE practice and Waste Management.
Daily Safety Meetings and Crew Audits.

Finally, we would like to say that our goal is to keep the client well informed about the survey activities with a precise and accurate daily, weekly & monthly basis report. Later on when the survey is completed, we will be including an appropriate Final Report with remarks, comments and recommendations. The data Out of Tolerances set by the industry standards and the Oil Operating Company will not be accepted and if any major problems arises, they will be solved between our Field QC Consultant and the seismic contractor, leaving the Oil Operating Company management undisturbed, but always well informed about the situation and the overall status of the ongoing seismic operations.
